Championing Movement for Children and Young People – PACC training

Active Devon, in partnership with Active Cornwall, is facilitating Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACC) training for people working in healthcare, focusing on how to talk to children and young people and their guardians to get them active.
The session will be led by Toni Martin (Associate Lecturer BSc Midwifery)
What is it?
Content includes:
– Background: Current landscape for physical activity in children and young people
– Evidence-based benefits – the latest research on how physical activity can be beneficial for children and young people for holistic wider health
– Identifying barriers – learn about the challenges, inequalities, and risks of inactivity across childhood.

– Helpful resources – access valuable tools and resources to support your practice and help patients become more active

Who is it for?

This training is for anyone working within health who has direct contact with patients, particularly those working with children and young people. This could include GPs, consultants, nurses, physios, therapists, wellbeing practitioners and community-based practitioners. The training is designed for the healthcare workforce but those working in the VCSE sector would also be welcome.

What do I need?

The training takes place online – a link will be sent to you the day before the event. The PACC training will be interactive so please make sure you have access to a camera and microphone on your device.
