South West Practice Nursing Awards
Some good news for 2021 – and as we know, good news is very much needed at the moment!
Devon Training Hub’s Preceptorship Course, which was developed by Tracey O’Keeffe and Lucy Wood and is delivered by a team of local and national expert speakers, has been shortlisted for the General Practice Nursing South West awards.
The programme was developed to support nurses new to general practice to help them to develop the specific skills and talents needed to be a part of the general practice team. The latest cohort also includes Allied Health Professionals, in recognition of how the Primary Care team is extending and broadening its scope. The programme focuses on nurturing those new to general practice through reflection, clinical supervision, leadership and critical analysis, while at the same time facilitating the development of practical skills which will allow clinicians to play an active role in delivering services.
Devon Training Hub is delighted to be shortlisted for this award which recognises the hard work and commitment to raising standards shown by all involved.

What is Devon Training Hub ("DTH") ?
Devon Training Hub is an organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality training, education and development for primary care staff across Devon.
DTH is partly commissioned by Health Education England (“HEE”) and is run by Primary Care in Devon. DTH is aligned to the four Primary Care Collaborative Boards across Devon; North, South, East & West , who working together form Devon Collaborative Board. We also work with numerous stakeholders including Pan-Devon Practice Managers as well as Public Health.
It is partly self-funding, partly funded by HEE, NHS England (“NHSE”) and Devon Clinical Commissioning Group (“CCG”).
DTH works closely with the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (“STP”) across Devon and will continue to work with these systems as the Integrated Care System (“ICS”) starts to emerge.
By bringing all of these organisations together, we can deliver effective, relevant and engaging training across Devon. This will help achieve standardised confident care in the region and improve primary care practice. To find out more go to About
