2-Day Assessment and Management of Minor Injuries in Primary Care

£280This is a two day course for all practitioners working in Primary Care or in Minor Injury/Urgent Care areas.
Minor injuries find their way on to our lists in many different guises. Patients present with painful ankles, elbows, shoulders, and backs to name a few, and in many cases, patients have not seemingly injured themselves or described having an injury or accident.
We also see, lacerations, burns, splinters, lumps and swellings, bruises, inflammation, and cellulitis in our day-to-day work.
Are you confident and competent in their management? Do you know when to refer in or request an x-ray? Do you know how to competently examine a joint?
This course covers

- Minor Injury History Taking
- Minor injury Examination, including MSK joint examination.
- The injured child, and older adult
- Tissue Healing and wound closure
- Musculoskeletal Injury including sprains and fractures, swellings, bumps, and bruises.
- To x-ray or not to x-ray… and when to refer.
- Anatomy and physiology
- Head injury.
- Back pain
- Burns and Scalds
The Assessment and Management of Minor Injuries in Primary Care course is delivered over 2 days with the days being split two weeks apart to support practices not having practitioners away from practice on two consecutive days.
Day 1 – 10th March 2025. 9am-4pm online on Microsoft Teams
Day 2 – 24th March 2025. 9am-4pm online on Microsoft Teams
