Workforce Immunisation Foundation Training

October 5 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
£150

The Workforce Immunisation Foundation Training is for health care professionals, who will be administering vaccines within a primary care setting, including those in the childhood vaccination programme.

Only HCSWs who have achieved or are currently undertaking education and training to Level 3 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)4 or equivalent with at least 2 years’ experience as a HCSW will be considered eligible for training in vaccine administration.

Our immunisation training programme is interdisciplinary to incorporate the many different healthcare workers who can now participate in immunisation. Interdisciplinary education also improves understanding of other professional roles and responsibilities, which in turn has a positive impact on patient outcomes.

This training is a blended learning programme that consists of 3 MANDATORY components:

  • PRE-WORK (full details can be found in the course profile document in the ‘Resources’ section once you have booked – this is an essential part of the training which provides the required knowledge across all areas of immunisation. You will be expected to draw upon this knowledge in the seminar. It is your responsibility to ensure that the pre-work has been satisfactorily completed.
  • INTERACTIVE SEMINAR – this session explores and builds upon the content covered in the pre-work. You will be expected to participate in quizzes, case study and scenario discussions.
  • COMPETENCY SIGN OFF – On completion of the prior learning, and the interactive session, you will be required to have your competency assessed in practice by an appropriate supervisor/assessor.  This process will be discussed in the session.

You MUST complete all required pre-work and send certificates as proof of completion to kernowhealthcic.workforce@nhs.net at least 2 days before the interactive seminar.
