Managing swallowing difficulties in palliative care

To improve knowledge and understanding about the anatomy and physiology of swallowing and illnesses affecting swallow function.
To be able to make an assessment of a person’s swallow and know when to refer for specialist support.
To improve confidence in the care and management of someone with swallowing difficulties.
To consider the communication and ethical decision making skills for people at end of life and how we can best support worried relatives and Carers.
