Chaperone Training for Non-Clinical Staff | 7 July 2026 | Exeter Racecourse
Following requests from practices, we are pleased to offer a face-to-face Chaperone Training Workshop for non-clinical staff working in primary care.
Developed specifically for general practice and aligned with current NHS England guidance, including the Sexual Safety Charter Framework and CQC expectations, this interactive session will cover:
- The role and purpose of a chaperone
- Intimate examinations and patient rights
- Types of examinations staff may witness in primary care
- Consent, safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Documentation and record keeping
- Chaperoning during video consultations
- Recognising patient distress and maintaining dignity
- Communication skills, equality and raising concerns
Whilst online mandatory training provides a useful overview, this workshop focuses on the practical application of the role within general practice, helping staff build confidence through discussion, questions and realistic scenarios.
