4 Mental Health – Community Suicide Awareness FREE (Online)

What does the course cover?

  • What suicide is and how distress can develop.
  • Exploration of the myths and stigma around suicide, and the barriers faced.
  • The concept that suicide is not inevitable – people can be helped.
  • How to support to someone in distress, suitable language and the importance of compassion.
  • How to use www.StayingSafe.net to create a safety plan.

Am I eligible for this course?

  • This course is only available to those aged 16 or above who are currently living and/or working in Devon, Plymouth or Torbay.
  • Participants will need to access the course via Zoom on a device with a working microphone and camera. We can only allow one participant per device, so you are not able to share a device. This is so that you get the most out of the training.
  • To ensure the wellbeing of everyone attending, all participants will be required to keep their camera on for the duration of the training.
  • This is an entry-level course; no previous training or experience is required.
