DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid – Refresher – 23rd January 2025.  09.30 to 13:30.\n\nOnly for Mental Health First Aiders or Mental Health First Aid Champions who completed their MHFA or MHFA Champion course within the last 3 years.\nWith MHFA Trainer Ali Uzzell\nMental Health First Aider – Refresher \n  \nIf you are a Mental Health First Aider or MHFA Champion you have skills for life that support you and the people around you. \nWe believe that mental health should be treated equally to physical health – and just like physical first aid\, Mental Health First Aid training should be kept up to date. \nThe four-hour MHFA Refresher course gives you the chance to: \n· Renew your skills \n· Update your knowledge of mental health support \n· Practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan \n· Access three years of MHFAider® Support and Benefits \n  \nPlease note that the MHFA Refresher is only for people who have completed an  MHFA course or an Armed Forces Mental Health First Aider course. \n  \nPlease note that the MHFA Refresher is only for people who have completed an Adult Mental Health First Aider\, MHFA Champion\, or Armed Forces Mental Health First Aider course.\nFormat \n·        This is a half day course delivered via online video conferencing \n·        Learning takes place through a mix of presentations\, group discussions and workshop activities \n·        We limit numbers to 25 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn\nHow often should MHFA England skills be refreshed? \nJust like physical first aid\, we recommend that Mental Health First Aiders and MHFA Champions attend a Refresher course every three years. \nIf it’s time to refresh your skills\, book onto an MHFA Refresher course now and feel confident that you are performing your vital role safely. \nIf you are not able to attend this session please let us know in advance so that a place can be made available for another delegate.\nPlease note that we will issue a £15 invoice for places that are not used unless we are advised that delegates are unable to attend. \n  \nAll delegates must have their own booking made through the Learning and Development Centre website to join the meeting.  The name on your Zoom account should be recognisable as the name on your booking.  If we cannot identify delegates they may not be admitted to the session\, or certificates may not be issued after the event. \nThis course is being run as an online training course. DESCRIPTION:Immunisation Foundation for Healthcare Assistants and Assistant Practitioners – 17th and 24th January 2025\, 09:30 to 13:00 on both dates. \nDelegates must attend both dates to complete the course. \nWith Specialist Immunisation Educators Tricia Smith and Emma Edwards. \nThis course is suitable for Healthcare Assistants and Assistant Practitioners only.\n  \nThis course meets the national minimum standards for immunisation training \n  \nCourse content will include \n• Immunity and the different types of  vaccine and how they work \n• Legal aspects of vaccination\, including delegation\, consent and patient specific directions \n• Epidemiology of influenza\, pneumococcal and shingles diseases. \n• Influenza\, COVID\, pneumococcal and shingles programmes for 2024/2025. \n• The importance of the cold chain \n• Consultation process and risk assessment \nThis course is being run as an online training course.
