DESCRIPTION:Supporting People with Sleep – 1st October 2025\, 09:30 to 12:30 \nIn Person training at Porteous Groundworks Training Room\, 37 Estover Close\, Plymouth\, PL6 7PL. \nWith Victoria Tucker\, Learning and Development Centre Sleep Coach \nSuitable for: \nAll Healthcare Professionals \nSynopsis: \nGood quality sleep (and getting enough of it!) is vital for our health and wellbeing.  Everyone working in healthcare will have supported patients who are not getting enough sleep\, whether this is due to their mental health\, physical health\, medications\, profession or lifestyle.  At any one time\, 36% of the British population has experienced poor sleep in the last week. \nSleep is a mysterious activity that many of us take for granted\, but for others can be the cause of great distress. Poor sleep is known to contribute to poor health outcomes. \nThis bespoke training session will begin with a discussion about how we sleep and how our bodies and brains react to the different sleep stages.  The presentation also covers sleep anxiety and stress\, sleep hygiene\, ways of introducing stress management and relaxation techniques\, what to do when you have a bad night and why early nights and lie-ins may not be recommended for people with sleep problems.
