DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Phlebotomy – 2nd June 2026.\nIn-person training at Kingdom Business Centre\, Brunel Road\, Newton Abbot\, TQ12 4PB – 09:30 to 13:00.\nWith Clinical Educator Tracey Owen\nSuitable for all Healthcare Professionals \nThe training material covers all aspects of Phlebotomy and gives delegates a complete understanding of the theory associated with this procedure.  Delegates are also given the opportunity to work with a fake arm and practice the procedure. \nAfter the training session delegates will be sent the training slides and a competency document to complete in practice with an experienced and suitably qualified Mentor.  Please ensure that there is someone in practice available to oversee your work while you complete the practical elements of the course. \nOnce complete please retain the competency document with the course certificate to evidence proficiency; we do not need to see these once completed but you can upload them to your Learning and Development Centre account. \nCourse joining instructions will be emailed to you in the week prior to the event. \nIf you have any questions please contact the team at ldc.sentinel@nhs.net

DESCRIPTION:Immunisation Foundation for Registered Healthcare Practitioners \n1st\, 8th and 15th October 2026 \nOpen to Registered Healthcare Practitioners only.\nBlended in-person and virtual training.\nDelegates need to attend both the in-person and virtual training sessions to complete the course\, and submit pre-learning and an online assessment.\nPresented by Specialist Immunisation Educators\, Tricia Smith and Emma Edwards. \n  \nThis course is suitable for Registered Healthcare Practitioners only.  If you have any queries about the suitability of this course please contact Learning and Development Centre before making a booking. \nThis course meets the national minimum standards for immunisation training \n Course content will include: \n  \n\nImmunity and the different types of  vaccines and how they work\nLegal aspects of vaccination\, including delegation\, consent and patient specific directions\nChildhood vaccinations\nEpidemiology of influenza\, pneumococcal and shingles diseases.\nInfluenza\, COVID\, pneumococcal and shingles programmes for 2025.\nThe importance of the cold chain\nConsultation process and risk assessment\n\n  \nCourse Details: \nDay ONE – Full day\n1st October 2026 – 09:30 to 16:00 \nKingdom Business Centre\, Brunel Road\, Newton Abbot\, TQ12 4PB \nIn-person training day: a buffet lunch is provided for all delegates.  Please state any dietary or access needs on your booking form. \n  \nDay TWO – half day\n8th October 2026 – 09:30 to 13:00 \nVirtual training session.  Zoom meeting details will be shared with you prior to the event. \nVenue: Zoom \n  \nDay THREE – half day\n15th October 2026 – 09:30 to 13:00 \nVirtual training session.  Zoom meeting details will be shared with you prior to the event. \nVenue: Zoom \nAll delegates are required to complete the eLearning section in the handbook before the first taught session. At the end of the course there will be a final assessment. Further information will be sent out prior to the start of  the course.  Please allow at least an hour after the final teaching session to complete the online assessment.  Without the pre-learning and completed online assessment\, delegates will not be able to pass this course. \nResources will be distributed to delegates by email\, including competency documents that will enable completion of the practical requirements in practice with a mentor. \nPart of this course is being run virtually . Details of how to join the meeting will be emailed to you closer to the event. \n  \nThese are interactive teaching sessions.
