DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Ear Care for Practice Nurses – 16th October 2024\, 09:30 to 15:30.\nwith Tracey Owen\, Ear Care Specialist. \nIvybridge Rugby Club\, Cross In Hand\, Ivybridge\, Devon PL21 0LR \nThis study day is designed for Nurses and Registered Nursing Associates with no experience in ear irrigation and Instrumentation. \n  \nObjectives/learning outcomes: \nAt the end of the study day the learners should: \n  \n\nHave a theoretical knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the ear.\nBe able to recognise various conditions that can affect the ear and know how to treat them and advise on prevention\nBe able to carry out holistic assessments and plan an appropriate plan of care for patients.\nDemonstrate correct use of equipment\, including decontamination\nDemonstrate correct and safe technique when carrying out:\nOtoscopy  –  within the group\nInstrumentation/ irrigation – on an educational model\n\nPLEASE NOTE \nWe are able to provide refreshments for this course\, but delegates are asked to bring their own packed lunches as catering is unfortunately not available on this occasion.  \nIf you no longer require your place on this course place cancel it so that there is availability for other delegates.  To cancel a booking please log into your training account\, go to the Centre course list and click on the orange box next to the course name. \n  \nIf you have any questions please contact the team!  ldc.sentinel@nhs.net

DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Phlebotomy – 11th June 2024.  13:30 to 16:30\nIn-person training at Ivybridge Rugby Club\, PL21 0LR\nWith Clinical Educator Claire May \nSuitable for all Healthcare Professionals \nThis course will be run as an in-person training course at the Ivybridge Rugby Club\, Cross In Hand\, Ivybridge\, Devon\, PL21 0LR.   There is free parking available in the main car park at the venue.  \nThe training material covers all aspects of Phlebotomy and gives delegates a complete understanding of the theory associated with this procedure.  Delegates are also given the opportunity to work with a fake arm and practice the procedure. \nAfter the training session delegates will be sent the training slides and a competency document to complete in practice with an experienced and suitably qualified Mentor.  Please ensure that there is someone in practice available to oversee your work while you complete the practical elements of the course. \nOnce complete please retain the competency document with the course certificate to evidence proficiency; we do not need to see these once completed but you can upload them to your Learning and Development Centre account. \nCourse joining instructions will be emailed to you in the week prior to the event. \nIf you have any questions please contact the team at ldc.sentinel@nhs.net
