DESCRIPTION:Immunisation Foundation for Registered Healthcare Practitioners – 28th March and 4th April 2025.\nOpen to Registered Healthcare Practitioners only.\nBlended in-person and virtual training.\nDelegates need to attend both the in-person and virtual training sessions to complete the course\, and submit pre-learning and an online assessment.\nPresented by Specialist Immunisation Educators\, Tricia Smith and Emma Edwards. \nThis course is suitable for Registered Healthcare Practitioners only.  If you have any queries about the suitability of this course please contact Learning and Development Centre before making a booking. \nThis course meets the national minimum standards for immunisation training \n Course content will include: \n  \n\nImmunity and the different types of  vaccines and how they work\nLegal aspects of vaccination\, including delegation\, consent and patient specific directions\nChildhood vaccinations\nEpidemiology of influenza\, pneumococcal and shingles diseases.\nInfluenza\, COVID\, pneumococcal and shingles programmes for 2023/2024.\nThe importance of the cold chain\nConsultation process and risk assessment\n\n  \nCourse Details: \nFriday 28th March 2025: 09:30 to 16:30\nIn-person training day: a buffet lunch is provided for all delegates.  Please state any dietary or access needs on your booking form. \nVenue: Future Skills Centre\, Exeter College\, Exeter Airport Industrial Estate\, EX5 2LJ \nFree parking is available for delegates at the venue and refreshments will be provided throughout the day. \nFriday 4th April 2025: 09:30 to 13:00\nVirtual training session.  Zoom meeting details will be shared with you prior to the event. \nVenue: Zoom \nAll delegates are required to complete the eLearning section in the handbook before the first taught session. At the end of the course there will be a final assessment. Further information will be sent out prior to the start of  the course.  Please allow at least an hour after the final teaching session to complete the online assessment.  Without the pre-learning and completed online assessment\, delegates will not be able to pass this course. \nResources will be distributed to delegates by email\, including competency documents that will enable completion of the practical requirements in practice with a mentor. \nPart of this course is being run virtually .
