SUMMARY:Connect 5 – Modules (1-3 FREE Online)
DESCRIPTION:Connect 5 Modules 1-3 (Online) \nExcited to announce our upcoming event where we dive into Modules 1-3 of the Connect 5 program! \nDuration: 8 Hours \nVirtual Platform: Zoom \nWhat is Connect 5? \n\nConnect 5 is an evidence-based training programme designed to promote mental health by changing the way we have conversations about mental wellbeing.\n\n\nIt is comprised of three modules\, each incremental in terms of skill development. Participants can attend 1\, 2 or all 3 modules\, but they must be completed in order (starting with Module 1).\n\nWhat do Modules 1 – 3 cover? \nModule 1 \nIntroduction to public mental health models and recognised techniques\, including the Crossed Axes Model of Mental Health\, 3Cs of Connected Conversations and the 5 Areas Model. \nHow to signpost to local mental wellbeing services and resources that enable people to help themselves. \nModule 2 \nHow to use the 5 Areas Model to provide a brief\, structured intervention to help a person understand their feelings and what they can do to feel better. \nHow to identify when a person needs more than self-help (including having thoughts of suicide). \nModule 3 \nSelf-help tools and life skills to motivate and support people in taking action to build and maintain their mental wellbeing. \nAm I eligible for this course? \n\nThis course is only available to those aged 16 or above who are currently living\, working and/or studying in Devon\, Plymouth or Torbay.\nParticipants will need to access the course via Zoom on a device with a working microphone and camera. To ensure the wellbeing of everyone attending\, all participants will be required to keep their camera on for the duration of the training.\nThis is an entry-level course; no previous training or experience is required.\n\nWhat happens next? \n\nAfter booking your ticket\, a place on the course will be reserved for you and you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite allowing you to add the event to your electronic calendar.\nThe day before your course\, you will receive an email from training@petesdragons.org.uk containing the course workbook and Zoom link for your session. If you would benefit from receiving this email earlier\, please let us know.\n\nWhat if I can no longer attend? \n\nIf you are no longer able to attend the training\, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can try to offer your space to someone else.\nThis course has been kindly funded by Public Health Devon but does require a minimum number of participants attending on the day for it to proceed. ‘No shows’ can result in courses having to be cancelled without warning\, wasting other participants time and vital public funds\, so we really appreciate any notice you can give us.\nYou can cancel your place by contacting us on 01395 277780 or training@petesdragons.org.uk. Alternatively\, your order confirmation email from Eventbrite will contain a link to view and manage your booking directly.
