DESCRIPTION:This is a two day course for all practitioners working in Primary Care or in Minor Injury/Urgent Care areas. \nMinor injuries find their way on to our lists in many different guises. Patients present with painful ankles\, elbows\, shoulders\, and backs to name a few\, and in many cases\, patients have not seemingly injured themselves or described having an injury or accident. \nWe also see\, lacerations\, burns\, splinters\, lumps and swellings\, bruises\, inflammation\, and cellulitis in our day-to-day work. \nAre you confident and competent in their management? Do you know when to refer in or request an x-ray? SUMMARY:2-Day Assessment and Management of Minor Injuries in Primary Care
DESCRIPTION:This is a two day course for all practitioners working in Primary Care or in Minor Injury/Urgent Care areas. \nMinor injuries find their way on to our lists in many different guises. Patients present with painful ankles\, elbows\, shoulders\, and backs to name a few\, and in many cases\, patients have not seemingly injured themselves or described having an injury or accident. \nWe also see\, lacerations\, burns\, splinters\, lumps and swellings\, bruises\, inflammation\, and cellulitis in our day-to-day work. \nAre you confident and competent in their management? Do you know when to refer in or request an x-ray? Do you know how to competently examine a joint? \nThis course covers \n\n\n\nMinor Injury History Taking\nMinor injury Examination\, including MSK joint examination.\nThe injured child\, and older adult\nTissue Healing and wound closure\nMusculoskeletal Injury including sprains and fractures\, swellings\, bumps\, and bruises.\nTo x-ray or not to x-ray… and when to refer.\nAnatomy and physiology\nHead injury.\nBack pain\nBurns and Scalds\n\n\n\nThe Assessment and Management of Minor Injuries in Primary Care course is delivered over 2 days with the days being split two weeks apart to support practices not having practitioners away from practice on two consecutive days. \nDay 1 – 2nd September. 9am-4pm online on Microsoft Teams \nDay 2 – 16th September. 9am-4pm online on Microsoft Teams \nPlaces are limited on this course\, so early booking is advised due to its popularity and its ability to address the needs of those starting to see Minor Injuries and those wishing to refresh and update their skills in this broad topic. \nPlease contact: lesley.haxworth@aspireclinicaltraining.co.uk for more information or to reserve a place on the course.
