DESCRIPTION:Spirometry Study Day – 18th March 2027 \n09:30 to 16:30 \nIn person training at Future Skills Centre\, Exeter College\, Exeter Airport Industrial Estate\, EX5 2LJ \n\nPerforming spirometry in adults & children and/or technical reporting/interpretation. \nSuitable for: Clinical practitioners using Spirometry as a diagnosis tool for patients with respiratory conditions. \nLunch & Coffee Breaks included \nAGENDA\n09:00 – Registration \n09:30 – Welcome and introduction \n09:45 – Performing spirometry\n• Respiratory anatomy & physiology\n• Introduction to spirometry and what we are measuring\n• Indications for spirometry\n• Preparing the equipment: infection control\, quality assurance (verification of calibration &\ncalibration\, biological control)\n• Patient preparation: pre-test advice\, contraindications\, demographics & reference values \n10:45 – Coffee Break \n11:00 – Performing spirometry\n• Performing spirometry in line with the ARTP standards- getting a good result\n• Technical acceptability and reproducibility\n• Spirometry demonstration\n• Carrying out reversibility\n• Recognising errors in spirometry- group work\n• Spirometry Practical (please bring your spirometer\, antibacterial antiviral filters & 3L\nsyringe.
