DESCRIPTION:Active Devon\, in partnership with Active Cornwall\, is facilitating Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACC) training for people working in healthcare\, focusing on how to talk to mental health patients to get them active.\nThe session will be led by Paula Manning (Recently Retired Clinical Lead Mental health Physiotherapist)\n\nWhat is it?\nContent Includes:\n\n\n– The importance of physical activity – understand the role of physical activity in the management of mental health illness and other long term conditions\n– Evidence-based benefits – the latest research on how physical activity can be beneficial in the treatment of anxiety\, depression\, schizophrenia\, OCD\, PTSD\, and ADHD\n– Identifying barriers – learn about the challenges faced by individuals with mental health conditions in becoming active\n– Helpful resources – access valuable tools and resources to support your practice and help patients become more activeWho is it for?\nThis training is for anyone working within health who has direct contact with patients\, particularly those working in Mental Health. This could include community mental health teams\, nurses\, occupational therapists\, clinicians\, GPs and consultants. The training is designed for the healthcare workforce but those working in Mental Health in the VCSE sector would also be welcome.What do I need?\nThe training takes place online – a link will be sent to you the day before the event. DESCRIPTION:Mental Health Awareness – 14th May 2026\, 09:30 to 13:30.\nSuitable for all job roles in all settings\nWith Ali Uzzell\, MHFA England Trainer. \nMental Health Awareness \nThis course raises awareness of mental health. It covers: \n·        What mental health is and how to challenge stigma \n·        A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues \n·        An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing \n·        Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue\nFormat \n·        This is a half day course delivered virtually in Zoom. \n·        Learning takes place through a mix of presentations\, group discussions and workshop activities \n·        We limit numbers to 25 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn\nTakeaways \nEveryone who completes the course gets: \n·        A certificate of attendance to say you are Mental Health Aware \n·        A manual to refer to whenever you need it \n·        A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health \nThis is an introductory Mental Health course.  If you have previously attended a Mental Health First Aid\, or Mental Health First Aid Champion course then you have already covered the material that will be discussed in this session.  \nIf you no longer require your place on this course place cancel it so that there is availability for other delegates.  To cancel a booking please log into your Learning and Development Centre account\, go to the Centre course list and click on the orange box next to the course name. \nIt is expected that you will attend the session virtually from a quiet location at which you will not be disturbed\, and you will have access to a microphone and camera on your device.  Every delegate must have their own device to use throughout this session.  This is a requirement for attending this interactive course. \nThis course is being run as an online training course.
