SUMMARY:Unsnap the Advice Trap - 13th and 20th March 2026 - Hosted by LDC
DESCRIPTION:Unsnap the Advice Trap – 13th and 20th March 2026.  09:00 to 12:30 on both dates.\nLive Virtual Teaching Session with Stephen McCann and Judy Rees.\nSuitable for: GPs\, nurses\, health coaches\, social prescribers\, care coordinators\, allied health professionals\, community health workers\, and peer supporters working in primary and community care settings\, including integrated or multidisciplinary teams. \nEmotionally charged conversations are part of everyday healthcare. Done well\, they build trust and confidence. Done badly\, they can leave everyone drained.\nUnsnap The Advice Trap is a short\, practice-based conversation upgrade for healthcare teams. It introduces Clean Language\, an approach that helps people find clarity in their own words\, without pressure. \nSiobhan Aris\, an advanced palliative care nurse based in Cornwall\, said: “Clean Language has shown me how much better communication could be. It has improved patient care – and I also think it’s improved my conversations with my colleagues.” \n  \nWhen the quality of understanding improves\, patients feel more listened to\, and colleagues often find more joy and less stress at work. When this happens the results can include improved patient outcomes and a reduction in staff churn and therefor costs. \nCourse Details \nWe design engaging\, practical sessions with plenty of opportunity for discussion\, practice\, and real-life scenarios. \n● Format:  two half days delivered online \n● Group size: up to 16 participants \n● Style: interactive\, practical\, scenario-based \n● Options: train-the-trainer programme available\, with certification\, licensed training materials\, and mentoring to support your own facilitators \nFeedback from NHS pilots and national awareness week tasters shows strong impact for patients\, families\, staff\, and volunteers alike. \nBenefits and Course Objectives: \nUnsnap The Advice Trap helps clinicians\, health coaches\, and community-based practitioners to: \n● Stay steady in emotionally charged conversations \n● Ask questions that reduce pressure and create clarity \n● Support clearer decisions and stronger follow-through \n● Reduce emotional strain and prevent burnout \n● Free up energy for what matters most \nThis course is being run as an online training course. Details of how to join the meeting will be emailed to you closer to the event. \nIf you are not able to attend this session please cancel your place in advance via your Learning and Development Centre account so that a place can be made available for another delegate. \nIt is expected that you will attend the session virtually from a quiet location at which you will not be disturbed\, and you will have access to a microphone and camera on your device.  Every delegate must have their own device to use throughout this session.  This is a requirement for attending this interactive course.  \nIf you have any queries please contact ldc.sentinel@nhs.net

SUMMARY:HR Brief Bites 12: Sexual Harassment
DESCRIPTION:Aim\n26th October 2024 is a key date\, as employment law changes are coming into effect\, which relate to Sexual Harassment at work. \nThese are fundamental\, key changes which require policy updates and other documentation which supports the steps employers must take to be protected against claims.
They apply regardless of the size of the organisation\, and you will need to demonstrate that you have proactively taken ‘all reasonable steps’ to prevent sexual harassment from happening. This includes from third parties (think: your patients\, visitors\, contractors etc). \nThis is huge change to employment law\, and should a case reach tribunal and you are found to breach your duties under this law\, any compensatory award could be increased by up to 25%. \nWe are delivering a 1.5 hours training session\, with an additional 30 mins Q&A session should you need it. \nWho should attend the workshop\n\nManagers\, team leads and staff in a supervisory role within primary care\n\nLearning outcomes\nThe training session covers: \n\nWhat is sexual harassment?\nYour changing obligations\nNew powers for employees\nRisks and reasonable steps including the EHRC 8 steps guidance\nGovernment plans for further reform
