DESCRIPTION:Diabetes Foundation – 12th March 2025\, 09:30 to 13:00\nBecky Brown and Marcia Pearse present a general update suitable for anyone new to diabetes or wanting a refresher. It will improve general diabetes knowledge and promote up to date evidence based practice\, within diabetes care. \nThe course supports the Skills for Health Diabetes Competency Framework and is suitable for all primary care healthcare professionals. \nThe morning consists of a 3.5 hour diabetes update by the Specialist Nurse team. \nSuitable for community teams including: Practice Nurses\, District Nurses\, Long term condition Matrons and Healthcare Assistants. \nIf you no longer require your place on this course place cancel it so that there is availability for other delegates.  To cancel a booking please log into your Learning and Development Centre account\, go to the Centre course list and click on the orange box next to the course name.   \n\nIt is expected that you will attend the session virtually from a quiet location at which you will not be disturbed\, and you will have access to a microphone and camera on your device.  Every delegate must have their own device to use throughout this session.  This is a requirement for attending this interactive course.  \nAll delegates must have their own booking made through the Learning and Development Centre website to join the meeting.  The name on your Zoom account should be recognisable as the name on your booking.  If we cannot identify delegates they may not be admitted to the session\, or certificates may not be issued after the event. \nThis course is being delivered virtually; meeting details will be advised a few days beforehand.  If there are any queries please contact ldc.sentinel@nhs.net.

DESCRIPTION:Introduction To Insulin Initiation – Wednesday 12th March 2025\, 09:30 to 16:00.\nIn-person\, catered training day with Clinical Educator Julie Frost. \nFresha Exeter\, 23 Bittern Rd\, Sowton Industrial Estate\, Exeter EX2 7LW.\nSuitable for: Experienced Registered Healthcare Professionals that see Diabetes patients and will be overseeing insulin therapies in general practice. \nThis brand new education day consists of classroom-based theory and practical learning\, designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to support diabetes management in primary care. \nThe objective is to facilitate tailored clinical support for patients who are starting insulin therapies for the first time.  This training will reference local formularies and consultant-led best practice. \nThis course will cover Insulin Initiation in Primary Care: a theoretical and practical guide. Learning through presentations\, small group work\, case studies and practical demonstrations to provide the knowledge and skills to understand the principles of initiating insulin. \n  \nIt is intended  is for healthcare professionals who already have experience in diabetes management but would like to include insulin initiation for people with type 2 diabetes as part of their clinical role\, or for those who already initiate insulin but feel that they need basic revision. \nThis is a catered event – please ensure that you confirm any access and/or dietary needs on your booking form.   \nIf you no longer require your place on this course place cancel it so that there is availability for other delegates.  To cancel a booking please log into your Learning and Development Centre account\, go to the Centre course list and click on the orange box next to the course name. \nAll delegates must have their own booking made through the Learning and Development Centre website to join this education day.
