DESCRIPTION:Target Audience: who is this suitable for? – GPs and registered Nurses/Practitioners with a special interest on Women’s health \nAreas to be covered: \n\nTeach pessary management of pelvic organ prolapse in line with 2021 UKCS guidelines\n\nTo be achieved through these objectives: \n\nFollow UKCS guidelines and log book for practical assessment\nUnderstanding basics of pelvic floor assessment for prolapse and symptoms\nTeach sizing and fitting of FP10 available pessaries in models\n\nLearning outcomes i.e by the end of this activity\, attendees should be able to \n\nDeliver best practice in non surgical treatment of prolapse according to standardised UKCS guidelines\nAssessment of pelvic organ prolapse and appropriate choice of management with pessary or referral onwards.\nUndertake practical sizing and fitting of available pessaries (FP10) and completion of relevant competencies given in log book standards.\n\nEvidence/guidelines and/or other resources (e.g. patient/service user input) that have been used to inform the content \n\n2021 UKCS UK clinical guideline for best practice in the use of vaginal pessaries for pelvic organ prolapse.\nPractical use of pessaries on demonstration models\n\nDelivery method e.g. live webinar/pre-recorded video/face to face training etc. \n\n2 x face to face lectures with practical session on demo models at the end\nSome face to face with patients can be offered to those clinicians that require further support.\n\nLength of the activity i.e how many CPD hours? \n\nEach session will last approx. 3 to 4 hours\n\nMaterials available to the learner before\, during or after the activity \n\nhttps://www.ukcs.uk.net/UK-Pessary-Guideline-2021\nEach learner is expectedhttps://forms.office.com/e/E2h9DW9zUJ to have these guidelines with log book printed off and with them at session.\n\nThis event is now full\, please express your interest for the other dates – 17th July & 17th October

DESCRIPTION:**For mid career GPs wishing to connect with colleagues and develop their non clinical professional\, leadership and management skills in primary care.*** \nDevon Training Hub are collaborating with Devon ICB to offer this programme of six education evenings between January and June 2024.  Expert speakers from both local and national organisations will attend to provide thought provoking content and facilitate discussions about subjects which are essential for GPs leading patient care delivery and teams in their practices (this is most of!) \nEach Re-connect programme has capacity for up to 30 participants.  We ask that participants are able to attend at least 4 of the 6 events.  If we are over-subscribed then a second Re-connect programme will start for six months in September 24 and we will keep a waiting list for this. This programme is aimed at GPs who are not eligible for Next Generation GP programme as it complements and builds on this. \nDates of Reconnect Devon sessions: \n– Tuesday 23rd January 2024 \n– Tuesday 20th February 2024 \n– Tuesday 12th March 2024 \n– Tuesday 9th April 2024 \n– Tuesday 14th May 2024 \n– Tuesday 11th June 2024 \nThe evenings will be hosted at Buckfast Abbey. \nMeeting time 18:30 (for networking and hot food). SUMMARY:Level 5 – Operations and Departmental Manager Apprenticeship Programme
DESCRIPTION:Devon Way Training Hub are working in collaboration with PMA to support the provision of a certified Level 5 Operations or Departmental Management Apprenticeship Standard with a Devon Way specific curriculum overlay. \nThis apprenticeship programme is set at a standard suitable for those who are managing teams or projects and are responsible for achieving operational or departmental goals as part of their organisation’s strategy. \nLearners will be enrolled onto the Level 5 Apprenticeship Standard for a total of 20 months including the 3-month End Point Assessment period. Working in collaboration\, tutors\, coach and facilitator\, accompanied by the employer\, will support learners to study a learning programme that is specific to the needs of the settings in Devon. The commitment from the Practice and the Learner is time & cost of backfill to cover whilst they are learning. \nEach Learner will have: \n\na subject specialist Tutor\, a Functional Skills tutor (if required)\, a wellbeing coach and a Devon Way facilitator.\nmonthly teaching and learning session with each of them (up to 2 – 4.5 hours for a session depending on content)\na learner review each month for 45 mins to 1 hour (hopefully with both tutors together but if not\, the Tutors will work in collaboration beforehand to make the reviews meaningful.)\na twelve weekly tripartite review with the learner\, employer and tutor\nto evidence 6 hours a week off the job learning. We support this through online learning\, workshops\, and resources to read/comment on\nto complete an improvement initiative project beneficial to the setting\n\nFOR THIS COHORT ONLY – the cost of the apprenticeship programme is FREE! \nLearners will gain a Level 5 Leadership & Management Apprenticeship standard and a PMA / Devon Way Certificate of Proficiency. On completion\, apprentices can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership and Management\, and those with 3 years of management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI. \nTo apply for the Level 5 Operational and Departmental Manager apprenticeship programme with Devon Way overlay\, please contact devon.traininghub@nhs.net\nApplications need to be received by 22nd November to start the Programme in January 2024. The session also covers how reception staff could respond if a patient says something which could be interpreted as racist about a member of our team. \nObjectives: By the end of the session\, you will be able to: \n\nDefine what microaggression is and understand they can occur without intent.\nIdentify the impact of microaggression on marginalised individuals.\nLearn about an easy-to-use tool to manage microaggression.\nEffectively intervene as a bystander in a structured way.\nShare your learning with your team when back at work.\n\nThis course is a comprehensive\, practical session that will build on learning provided in online modules through facilitated discussions and conversations.
