The guidance was updated in 2023 and our initial training sessions include the following: \n  \n\nThe NHS Cervical Screening Programme\nThe background to cervical screening\nOrganisation of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme\nEquality of access to cervical screening\nUnderstanding the test results\nAnatomy and physiology of the pelvic organs\nPractical aspects and professional responsibilities of taking cervical samples\n\n  \nTrainees will receive initial theory and practical training with our Clinical Educators before completing the rest of the programme by undertaking supported procedures in practice with their Mentor.  The whole programme can take up to 6 months to complete\, but can take as little as 6 weeks if there are sufficient appointments available to the Trainee. \n  \nLearning and Development Centre provides a detailed programme of work to follow\, a Training Portfolio and Training Handbook\, and professional support for Sample Taker Trainees and their Mentors throughout the programme. The guidance was updated in 2023 and our initial training sessions include the following: \n  \n\nThe NHS Cervical Screening Programme\nThe background to cervical screening\nOrganisation of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme\nEquality of access to cervical screening\nUnderstanding the test results\nAnatomy and physiology of the pelvic organs\nPractical aspects and professional responsibilities of taking cervical samples\n\n  \nTrainees will receive initial theory and practical training with our Clinical Educators before completing the rest of the programme by undertaking supported procedures in practice with their Mentor.  The whole programme can take up to 6 months to complete\, but can take as little as 6 weeks if there are sufficient appointments available to the Trainee. \n  \nLearning and Development Centre provides a detailed programme of work to follow\, a Training Portfolio and Training Handbook\, and professional support for Sample Taker Trainees and their Mentors throughout the programme. DESCRIPTION:Asthma Advanced\n27th January 2027\, 10th and 24th February 2027 \n11:15 to 12:30 on all three dates.  \nThree part course with additional reading and resources.\nDesigned and presented by Laura Rush\, Specialist Respiratory Nurse.\nSuitable for : Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants that see Respiratory Patients.  Delegates need to attend all three online sessions to complete this course. \n  \nThe Clinical Assessment\, Diagnosis & Management of Adult Asthma \nWe will advise the date from which you will be able to access the e-learning content in Google Classroom. There are no live webinars to attend this day but please ensure you log into Google Classroom on this date to ensure you receive notifications of communication through the classroom. \nThis 6 week\, 8 hour e-learning module is suitable for healthcare professionals who are looking to enhance their knowledge and skills in asthma utilising the most up to date evidence-based guidance. Delivered through a combination of interactive e-learning hosted in Google Classroom\, videos\, case studies and live webinar sessions hosted via Google Meet. The course is broken down into 3 units. You must complete the e-learning for each unit prior to that unit’s webinar date. \nLearning outcomes \nTo be able to: \n\nApply the latest asthma guidance\nUnderstand the diagnostic criteria to reach a robust diagnosis\nIdentify the goals of asthma treatment and the challenges\nUnderstand the treatment options and tailor them to the patient\nRecognise patients with suboptimal asthma control at risk of exacerbation and hospital admission and how to address this\, knowing when to refer\nProvide a good quality review with supported self-management\n\n  \nThe event will be held online and details of how to join the event will be emailed out closer to the event date. \n  \nIt is expected that you will attend the teaching sessions virtually from a quiet location at which you will not be disturbed\, and you will have access to a microphone and camera on your device.  Every delegate must have their own device to use throughout this session.  This is a requirement for attending this interactive course. \n  \nAll delegates must have their own booking made through the Learning and Development Centre website to join the meeting.  The name on your Zoom account should be recognisable as the name on your booking.  If we cannot identify delegates they may not be admitted to the session\, or certificates may not be issued after the event. \nIf you no longer require your place on this course place cancel or transfer it so that there is availability for other people.  To manage your bookings please log into your Learning and Development Centre account and navigate to your Courses page. \nIf you need any further information please contact ldc.sentinel@nhs.net
