DESCRIPTION:Aim\nThe dreaded appraisal reviews are coming around again! Let’s take the fear and hard work away and make all appraisals a positive and developmental experience. \nThe aims of this workshop are therefore: \n\nTo help delegates plan for and hold a positive performance review\, ensuring performance is raised to new levels\nTo give delegates the knowledge and confidence needed to raise the performance of their underperforming staff\n\nWho should attend the workshop\n\nManagers. team leads and other staff in a supervisory role\n\nLearning outcomes\nBy the end of the workshop\, participants will have a better understanding of: \n\nThe purpose of the appraisal process\nHow to plan a good performance review\nThe skills needed to hold a positive performance review\nFeedback and coaching techniques to improve performance\n\nThey will also have practised the essential skills and techniques covered. \nWorkshop format\nThe format will be informal and participative – everyone has an important contribution to make to the discussions. \nA typical workshop will cover: \n\nManagement theory and research input from the trainer\nLearning from our shared experiences\nSmall group work to discuss and share ideas\n\nThis workshop can be run in-house. DESCRIPTION:Aim:\nThis two-day course is aimed at anyone who has recently taken up their first management position. It provides a blend of theory and practice\, explores the transition into a management role\, addresses the shift in relationships for people who have been promoted from within their own teams and creates an opportunity to share experiences\, ideas\, and approaches with others in a similar position. \nWho should attend the workshop: \nAll new line managers and supervisors or experienced line managers who would like a refresher. \nLearning Outcomes:\nAt the end of the workshop\, you will have:\n– Increased their understanding the transition into management\n– Increased their understanding of their role and responsibilities as a manager\n– Increased their self-awareness\n– Explored different styles of management and be aware of their own approach\n– Understood the importance of performance management and their role in it\n– Identified the management skills needed to carry out their role effectively and had the opportunity to practice some of these skills\n– Appraised their existing management skills and have a plan for their ongoing development\n– Consider ways that the learning can be applied back at work \nWorkshop Format:\nThe format will be informal and participative – everyone has an important contribution to make to the discussions. \nA typical workshop will cover:\n– Management theory and research input from the trainer\n– Learning from our shared experiences\n– Small group work to discuss and share ideas

This workshop will look at practical techniques to help you achieve successful and positive outcomes with those difficult people and/or situations.
