Substance misuse in palliative care network
December 7, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The network was established to bring together mental health teams, addiction services alongside palliative care providers to share their knowledge and expertise to help improve the experiences of those they support. The target audience includes healthcare professionals, social care and specialist teams that may support individuals receiving palliative care who are either misusing substances or have a history of substance use. Register for the network now.
Objectives of the Network
- To improve the lived palliative care experiences of individuals who are either misusing substances or have a history of substance use, and the experiences of those important to them
- To understand the wider issues faced by this demographic, such as homelessness, financial insecurities and the impact these may have on their palliative and end of life experiences
- To identify any potential areas of research, outreach or service improvement within this demographic
- Increased awareness of ECHO methodology as a way of sharing knowledge and improving care at the end of Life
