Day 1 – 16 July 2025 – Sensitive communications at end of life
- Build Communication Skills: Gain confidence in verbal and non-verbal communication learn how to respond to challenging questions.
- Communication Models: Introduction to the Barley model of communication and the SBAR tool.
- Practical Demonstrations: Hands-on sessions on care of a person in bed, catheter management, skin and mouth care.
- Importance of TEPs: Understand your role in Treatment Escalation Plans.
Day 2 – 23 July 2025 – Care and comfort measures at the end of life
- Emotional and Spiritual Care: Learn to recognise and address individual concerns and spiritual needs.
- Meaningful Interventions: Focus on small, impactful actions for those imminently dying.
- Pain and Distress Recognition: Identify signs of pain and distress in dying patients.
- Care after Death: Learn how to care for a person who has had an expected death.
