diabetes. It will introduce the key concepts that underpin diabetes care
and support people to implement up to date, evidence based practice.
The focus is on type 2 diabetes.
The course aligns with the TREND Diabetes
Competency Framework and is suitable for all primary care healthcare
professionals who need a basic introduction to diabetes.
The morning consists of a 3.5 hours diabetes
overview, beginning with an explanation of what diabetes it, what causes
it, how it is diagnosed and the initial management, through lifestyle and
medication, of glucose levels, blood pressure and lipids.

community nurses, pharmacists, health care assistants.
