Red Flags – suitable for all clinicians offering ‘first
contact’ care in the community
Aim of the course: to enable clinicians to identify and
manage red flags in the primary care setting

How to carry out a structured assessment
The use of appropriate tests
Referral pathways for red flags
Emergency management of red flags
By the end of this course attendees will be able to:
- Recognise important red flags which may present in acute illness.
- Be able to implement appropriate management strategies.
- Initiate appropriate referral where indicated.
