Using an innovative alphabetical approach this study day looks at the diagnosis and management of red flags in an acute illness.
Suitable for GP nurses, pharmacists and those working in acute/out of hours settings in the community. The day also enables you to network with colleagues and counts as 6 hours of CPD, using a collaborative learning approach, for your revalidation.
By the end of this course attendees will be able to:
Recognise important red flags which may present in acute illness.
Be able to implement appropriate management strategies.
Initiate appropriate referral where indicated.
This is an interactive study day with sessions as follows:
9.30 What do you know, what do you need to know?
10.15 Keeping safe, medico legal issues, documentation and safety netting
11.15 Session to include red flags such as bleeding, chest pain, head injury and arrhythmia.
1.15 Session to include red flags such as glaucoma, sepsis and emergencies in diabetes
2.45 Session to include red flags on cranial nerve assessment, back pain and vomiting.
3.30 Q and A session – evaluation and conclusions from the day’s learning
